Because this runs in your browser, the limit is your own memory rather than an upload cap. Files up to a few hundred megabytes are comfortable on a normal laptop; a multi-gigabyte recording is better trimmed first.
How this one works
Raises the level and then catches the peaks, so the loud moments do not clip into crackle. A plain volume multiplier — what most tools do — makes a quiet recording louder and a normal one unlistenable.
Where the file goes
Nowhere. The video is read by the page and processed by a copy of ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, running inside this tab on your own machine. There is no server in the path, which is also why there is no size limit and no queue — and why a very long file depends on how much memory your computer has rather than on how busy we are.
What it costs
Nothing, and there is no catch to find later: no watermark, no sign-in before the download, no cap on how many times you can use it. It costs us nothing per use, because your computer did the work.
